What I Love About My Generation

"Angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night"

When Ginsberg wrote this, he was referring to a different generation. But good art is transcendent. Our generation burns for a connection of any kind. It's so much safer these days to sit at your computer and IM, Facebook (yes, it can be a verb), Second Life (yup, this too), etc. And they're multi-taskers! They're fully invested in an IM conversation about existence, while at the same time pumping out amazing art. Think I'm kidding? Here's 12 examples:

As I speak, there are 54,431,701 other examples here. How do you create stuff like this? Sure, you could create it from scratch, but why waste all that time? Most of these are copy and pasted, traced, hacked up, and remixed. My generation, among many tenants, holds "why reinvent the wheel?" And while this may produce some pretty horrible, shamelessly plagiarized English papers, it makes some undeniably swanky wallpaper.
